I kicked off my tour at the gorgeous Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne. They have an amazing restaurant there called Lightkeepers, that over looks the ocean. The ambiance alone will have you mesmerized. Chef Raul Delpozo is a master at his craft and the creation he made me was a work of art. This gorgeous dish was made of yellow fin tuna, sweet plantain, lemongrass espuma (foam), Kaffir lime, ginger and edible flowers.
Now pair this with the refreshing cocktail the bartender made and you have a
lavender inspired duo that will tantalize your taste buds. The Lagerhead lavender was made with Vodka, fresh pressed pineapple and lime juice, Chambord Liqueur, Lavender syrup and ginger beer. My next stop was the very popular beach spot, Lobster Shack. Now if you haven’t been here yet I’ll tell you this place has one of the best lobster rolls ever! As the Spicy Diva I of course chose the Spicy Roll, which the jalapeno cole slaw they spread on the bread and the fresh jalapeno on top really indulged my senses. These lobster rolls are loaded with fresh meat and my favorite part was the light bread. You seriously don’t feel like you ate bread at all.
It’s the perfect sandwich. I did get a
chance to sip on a froze too, which was so refreshing on such a hot day. I also sampled the South Beach roll. For those who don’t like spicy, it was definitely a winner with the avocado and bacon on top. The owner, Chris was a blast to chat with. Now its not every day that you get a big chef and lil chef cooking at the same time! But I did =) It was a pleasure having Chef Arturo Paz and his son cook me the most amazing dishes at Lobster Bar Sea Grille Miami. This is one of many venues from the Buckhead Restaurant Group and they are all top notch. It’s a shame I forgot to get a picture with these two talents but I guess I’ll have to go back again to see them.
The first plate the Chefs prepared was a
mediterranean char grilled octopus dish with a whole lot of flavor. I especially loved the complimenting olives, santorini capers, red onions, oregano, coriander and red wine vinaigrette. Then the chef introduced me to these luscious, soft, gently fried lobster bites and my mouth was in heaven.
The pairing mustard sauce that he created was just right. The food is literally as good as it looks. I especially like the

Chef Julian was a pleasure to meet. I’m really excited to go back and visit him after Seawell Fish n’ Oysters grand opening at the Kipton Anglers Hotel. Just looking at this picture again makes my mouth water. The pan seared snapper was so soft and tasty, which maybe from that amazing butter leek puree the chef layed it on. There were scallops and little neck clams with scallions on top.
But, the lobster sausage was by the far
the coolest way I’ve ever seen lobster used. It was the Chef’s own creation and it was divine. Hopefully they will be adding that to the new menu when they open. Now I’ve heard a lot about Meat Market Miami on Lincoln Road but hadn’t quite made it over there yet. Thanks to South Beach Seafood Fest I finally got my chance! Chef Sean filled me in on the fact that the restaurant had been designed by a woman to attract women, which is definitely a Meat Market attraction, beautiful women everywhere. The cool thing is there’s one in West Palm Beach too so if you live North you
can head either way. The Chef really did the prime beef right by curing it pastrami
style which is actually one of my favs! The corn salsa on top was just the right touch and mixing it with french fries was actually a fun compliment. Its like fancy meets casual all on one plate. I think Chef Peter Vauthy was trying to keep me at RED the steakhouse with the size of this meal! I absolutely love the vibe at RED. The room is filled with art work by Patrick Willard, which gives it the miami touch. The wine room is one to impress and visible from every spot in the restaurant. If you like cigars they even have a Gurka cigar station as you walk in. Now lets talk about the food.
The one pound lobster was stuffed with crab meat. It was so pretty I almost didn’t want to eat it, but then I did! The steak
was impressive and of course topped with crab meat. My mac and cheese was stuffed with lobster and made with 4 cheeses that made it so creamy and dreamy.
